Saint Patrick's Day Celebration - 17th March



Saint Patrick's Day, colloquially St. Paddy's Day or Paddy's Day, is an annual feast day which celebrates Saint Patrick, one of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on 17 March. It is observed by Irish people , Irish ancestry, Roman Catholics, Anglicans and Eastern Orthodox.

It is a feast day in Roman Catholic Church but the feast day will be moved forward by 3 days if it falls during Holy Week, ie. in 1940 and 2008.

"St Patrick's Day moved to early date Mar 13, 2008 2:08 PM Confusion's expected to reign tomorrow as the Catholic Church marks St Patrick's Day three days early. Catholic churches around the world are moving St Patrick's Day forward because the celebration falls during Holy Week this year - the most sombre week of the Church calendar."
